Whether it's rocking a camisole in the summer or showing your bra straps under a tank top, chances are you've probably worn lingerie in public in one way or another. But a new campaign from Victoria's Secret encouraging wearing bralettes, slip dresses, and lace bodysuits in public has some people saying the trend has gone too far, the Today show reports. The company is promoting a campaign called " The New Un Dress Code ," which prompts customers to "take it outside in easy, edgy satin and lace. To be fair, it also includes more realistic options like a lace skirt, a slip dress, and a satin pajama top, which can all work if paired with the right accessories.

One performance artist is fighting back against the degradation of women's bodies -- one piece of lingerie at a time. Actress and artist Diana Oh created a collection of 10 performance art pieces called My Lingerie Play which include her and other women standing in lingerie on their "soap boxes" to reclaim women's sexuality. In her performance pieces, Oh stands on top of a box in crowded areas in New York City such as Union Square and Time Square, and holds up different brown bags that describe the discrimination and violations women experience because our bodies are often seen as public property. Her examples include everything from catcalling to human trafficking.
